Topic: Cash in on "Frugal Living" Press Coverage

Declining home values and rising gasoline costs have seemingly dominated mainstream press coverage in recent months. But along with all the news of doom-and-gloom, there has also been an increase in stories which offer consumers tips on how to economize.

Here are some tips on how you can "bank" on success:

-Don't limit yourself to personal finance reporters - every category of media offers opportunity. If you have a food item, create recipe ideas with your product that can be made into multiple meals for the family, i.e., Meatloaf for dinner, made into sandwiches the next day -Lists are "Tops" - provide journalists with inspiration for Top 5 or Top 10 lists, i.e., Top 5 Improvements to Increase the Value of Your Home -Take a proactive tone - offer positive and upbeat advice. Make your tips doable and fun, and provide examples of people for whom these tips have worked
